Distributed Information Systems, implemented using distributed databases, disrtibuted processing and distributed management are the main subject of the discipline named briefly Distributed Systems.
The main goal is to attain skills in designing and administering distributed systems, based on local network.
Trainig has mixed teoretical and practical steams, taking in account the specific features of the students speciality Computer systems and technologies in conjuction with the disciplines Database and Computer networks and systems.
The following themes are covered: nature and characteristics of distributed systems, stability, sinchronization, parallel operations, data distribution, management of the distributed systems, distributed data processing.
The practical trajning is organized on a local network. The undertlying database management systems OpenIngres 2.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 are employed. |
