Title:
Development of New Tools for Cooperative Security in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
Abstract:
Ad-hoc networks face diverse security challenges such as potential presence of selfish nodes and energy limitation of nodes.
In general, it is not realistic to assume that nodes will cooperate in the multi-hop routing necessary in these networks because in order to provide forwarding service to other nodes the consumption of the valuable resource of energy is necessary.
This work proposes new defence mechanisms against such a threat, which stimulates cooperation among nodes by means of the use of virtual currencies and reputation monitoring.
