Title:
The implementation of data quality requirements in information systems
Abstract:
The control of data quality is widely discussed currently - criteria of quality evaluation are defined, methods for measuring data quality are proposed, but lack of automated data quality control methods and tools is the problem that most businesses faces. As quality of data is of the highest importance for some organisations, the need to automate data quality control is actual and relevant issue. The automated method of data quality control implementation in information systems is the solution of the above discussed problem. The method is based on implementation of business rules, defined in business system models represented using UML, as data quality examination queries. Data quality examination queries are expressed in SQL and may be executed to validate data in the selected database. The prototype of software system implementing the proposed method is created and tested. The eficiency of created software prototype was evaluated on the basais of results of carried out experiment.
